We are well into planning this trip for this summer. Have made reservations for the trip up the river. Still thinking about the trip back and wanting to have a more open schedule on the return trip with the freedom to change courses as we go. The trip will start in Memphis where we will walk across the Great River Crossing bridge, visit the Bass Pro Shop, the Sultana Museum, and on to Rutherford to visit the last home of my ancestor, Davey Crockett.

From there on to the Johnny Cash House, Wickliffe Mounds, Trail of Tears State Park, Lewis and Clark Historical Site, Melvin Price Lock and Dam, Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum, Big River Train Town, Buffalo Bill Museum, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and then crossing Mackinac Bridge and heading south towards home. Because I want to also include in this blog information on the campgrounds we stay in I think I will title the posts as Great River Road XXXXX, where XXXXX is the name of the campground. So the first post should be Great River Road DeWayne Hayes. The second post should be Great River Road T.O. Fuller State Park. You get the idea.
